Zoom Talk. Ignorance, prejudice and cruelty
2020-06-10 @18:30 - 20:40 BST
James Low will give a Zoom talk on “Ignorance, prejudice and cruelty”.
In a world where vulnerability often evokes cruelty rather than kindness it is helpful to remember the Buddha’s teachings on how ignorance arises, and from it, the mental dullness which leads to selfishness, complacency and indifference. If we are to avoid a wish to blame others and seek revenge then it is vital that we see the absence of inherent existence in both persecutor and victim. Loving kindness is powerful when linked to the awareness of how our mind actually is.
Milton Petruczok will be our translator into Portuguese and Juan B. García Lázaro will be our translator into Spanish.
Times are London time.

João and Milton are the organisers and coordinators for this and future Zoom events. They are the Zoom administrative points of contact. Click this link to register. Please register before the 10th to make it easier for them. Please mention if you want to join the Spanish or Portuguese ‘rooms’.
Because Milton and João are aware that many of us are not familiar with Zoom they will be available online before James teaches to explain how Zoom works and for people to ask questions. They will help you get set up and make sure you can see and hear James teaching, and also alternate to seeing the group. They can help you choose whether to be visible or invisible to other participants.
The teaching is free and if people wish to give dana they may do so.
