Supporting our sangha in Brazil

In our SBSangha we give and receive help from each other in all sorts of ways. James has no plans at present to travel and teach in Brazil and so we would like to support some students from Brazil to travel and attend his retreat in Portugal this summer. These are people who otherwise could not afford to make the journey and who are active in our sangha.
If you would like to offer help, than the monies will be gathered in an account set up by Pedro. Please email Pedro pfvgomes[at]gmail.com or Barbara and you will be sent Pedro’s bank details.

James writes:

Supporting the life blood of the sangha

As we know our small sangha is spread over many different countries. In the summer I will be doing a retreat in Portugal and I hope that many people will manage to come from Brazil as my health is not strong enough for me to go to Brazil.

The Brazilian economy is not so strong and some of our brothers and sisters in Brazil could do with some help to fund their fares and the accommodation cost of the retreat.

Therefore I would like to give a talk on communication within the sangha to explore how we can support each other through our practice, our friendly availability and our financial resources.

At this time there are so many attacks on free movement and on free conversation and communication and so by finding ways to stay in connection, to work for the benefit of all sentient beings, and to support the continuity of the teachings in different countries we can act to antidote the wave of selfishness and egotism which threatens to bring us all much grief.
