Being Sangha. Extracted from The Happy Twins, Eifel 2019
James Low
Extract taken from ‘The Happy Twins: Dzogchen and Mahamudra’. Autumn Retreat in the Eifel, 2019 James Low
The retreat focussed on two texts: The Mirror of Luminous Revelation, a terma text from Nuden Dorje Drophan Lingpa and The Mahamudra Middle Way of the Ganges spoken by Tilopa to Naropa. It also focused on how to respond, as Buddhists, to climate change and other world crises.

James talks about being in a sangha.
It is nice to be in a sangha, and we are always in a sangha of some sort or another. When we leave here we are in the sangha of the cars on the road… We are always somewhere. Do we belong? If we are on the inside, this is it. If I am in the bubble of myself it is very different.
So in our practice we observe how again and again we take ourselves out, we extricate ourselves and remove ourselves from where we are. The main function of our practice is to see how we come to isolation.
