“I would like to talk a little about some concepts from Tibetan buddhism and how they might be useful for us in dealing with the difficulties of life. There are many different kinds of buddhism in existence, which take up different positions regarding how we might function in the world, but the central focus is always on the nature of the mind. The mind is the principle focus. What we do with our body and what we do with our speech is determined by our mind. Of course, we are not always conscious about the movements of our minds. Sometimes we find ourselves saying something and we are quite surprised: ‘Why did I say that?’ “
